Influenza is a viral infection of the upper respiratory tract, often mistaken for the common cold, due to similar symptoms. However, in the case of influenza, there is a risk of complications which can endanger health and life. Thus, it is extremely important to know and be able to recognise the most common symptoms of influenza.
The most common and the most typical symptoms of influenza are, first of all:
the sudden onset of symptoms,
high and rapidly growing fever (even up to 39-41°C),
frequent muscle and joint pains,
poor mood, weakness combined with loss of appetite,
persistent cough – initially dry, non-productive, along with the development of the infection it may become wet and productive.
If you notice that you have two of the above mentioned symptoms, visit a physician,
who will diagnose the disease properly and order pharmacological treatment. These are usually combined products for the common cold and influenza and you will need to stay at home for a few days. Remember that influenza is not an ordinary infection. It may pose a danger to your health and even life.
