Are you feeling tired or weak? What could be the possible causes?
Fatigue
It is a feeling of lacking energy (having little strength) to continue work. It can be caused by the intensive metabolism in the body. Metabolic changes take place due to saccharides (being essential reactants) which are used for energy production. During these changes lactic acid is also created. It is fatigue that one feels when excessive amounts of this acid accumulate in the muscles.
Weakness
One can assume that fatigue is a symptom of weakness. However, sometimes these expressions are used interchangeably as there is no precise definition of either.
We can distinguish two kinds of weakness – physical and mental. The causes of physical weakness can be: a low immune system, weight loss, illnesses such as diabetes, hypertension, cardiovascular disease, insomnia and anemia. The causes of mental weakness on the other hand include: stress, depression, a difficult situation in work or school, excessive mental effort. It can also be caused by ignoring basic bodily needs such as eating or sleeping.
